Reaching the sky while avoiding falling debris

Chin Up is an arcade game that has you trying to gain the highest vertical distance while avoiding different falling hazards.

Gameplay in Chin Up is deviously simple and complex. You move Chin by manipulating the angle of the bamboo scaffold. Objects such as dynamite, food, and cats fall from the sky, and you have to help Chin avoid being hit. Changing the angle can clear debris, but also will put Chin in danger when he gets too close to the edge.

The game ends when Chin either loses all his energy or falls off the scaffold. Chin Up also drops power-ups like health or a hard-hat that can take some damage instead of Chin. Using the touch-screen, it is possible to move the platform horizontally in addition to adjusting the angle. The simple gameplay makes Chin Up addictive.

Chin Up’s graphics are stylized and use Chinese locales and items as the basis for the appearance. Occasionally, Chin Up does feel like it is venturing a little too far with stereotypes. The game runs smoothly with no glitches, and loading levels is also quick.

Chin Up will support in-app purchases for items to help Chin as he climbs higher. There are currently four levels to play, with more coming in future updates.
